A great post! Some musician types I’ve worked with before don’t even pay attention to the lyrics. For me, the lyrics are key and it’s much more difficult to learn a song where the lyrics make no sense than for one where there’s a point (and an eloquently put one, too).

I have got lost in the doing of life and stopped giving time to actually listening to music ..and hearing the lyrics. This is very moving and I must say I yet have to be inspired by Rap lyrics. I got hit in the head by too many ” F..this , f…that , f..ing crap world, I want to speak but I can’t sing….”
Ough, maybe I am opening the other controversy about Rap. It sounds to me like ( mostly guys) who illustrates the quote:” it is not because I have nothing to say that I should shut up” and while I am at why don’t I do “music” and skip the part where I actually learn music.
